We are looking for a dedicated Director of Operations to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. By joining us, you will be a key player in establishing operations practices and contributing to building one of the first large-scale European battery factories.
About the job
As Director of Operations, you will be responsible for the daily operational activities within the electrode area of battery production. Your competencies will be requested in expanding the local operations while managing the daily operations of existing facilities and developing benchmark systems to the Gigafactory for new Northvolt manufacturing centres.
About the team
You will have a dedicated team of Senior Production Managers and lead on organization of around 200-300 employees.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop, manage, and oversee operational practices for the electrode area of battery production
- Promote and implement ergonomic principles, environmental responsibility, and overall employee health and wellness
- Coach, mentor and develop all direct reports
- Ensure compliance with all quality systems to achieve the required quality levels
- Champion Lean Manufacturing Initiatives to drive continuous improvement
- Be responsible for people management including goal setting, performance management, competency development, recognition, engagement, and well-being
- Lead change management in accordance with business and plant objectives
- Lead and coordinate the implementation of programs which support manufacturing strategies & goals

We believe that you have :
- Master of Science
- Extensive experience within production and/or manufacturing, preferably in a scale-up phase
- More than 10 years’ experience in a manager position
- Experience from the areas equivalent of either notching or coating
- Experience in Quality Management and Problem Solving
- Production Engineering or Production Lean Engineering experience
- Fluent in English
- Excellent coaching skills
- High level of knowledge in shop floor management
- Ability to break down strategic targets to operational tasks/routine
